Lucero awarded €150,000 ERC Proof of Concept grant to begin prototype development.
We are very honored and happy to share that from the hands of our great advisor Dr. Giovanni Volpe, Lucero was selected as one of only three projects from Sweden to receive the Proof of Concept Grant (PoC) from the European Research Council. This grant aims to explore the commercial and societal potential of the very best and most innovative research from the European Union.
The grant money will finance the development of Lucero’s optofluidic micromanipulation prototype which we hope to get into the hands of microbiologists as quickly as possible.
“The outcomes are significant since the developed techniques will give rise to a wide range of applications where single-cell manipulation is employed. Moreover, the approach seeks add-on solutions to existing systems and instrumentation, which should amplify its commercialization prospects”. – ERC Approval Jury
Lucero’s mission is to simplify single-cell manipulation for biologists so they can better understand complex diseases and viruses and uncover the keys to the next generation of personalized medicine.
